A Little About Dan Dan Baker is the Senior Statesman for Trucking’s People Issues. He has been a speaker, facilitator and Consultant to the trucking Industry for 30 years; traveling throughout the United States and Canada speaking at state and national conventions, industry seminars, driver meetings, award ceremonies and all kinds of dispatcher training and leadership development events. Dan walks the People Side Of The Street, and the material he has built into these sessions reflects the knowledge and experience he has gained from working in and dealing with real trucking companies of all types in all kinds of situations over the years. Each Session deals with the real problems your people face every day. Dan deals with the issues of the younger generations migrating into the old work ethic society of trucking. The young folks today define work, worth, leisure, fun and fulfillment in a whole new way, and if we are going to deal with them, we must understand their needs and their perspectives. His major focus remains on the driver, and how we can deal with and build relationships of trust and respect with our drivers. That is basically what this series is about: Teaching the people in your company who deal with your drivers how to do that in a productive, credible, believable manner. Dan’s presentations are fun, stimulating and immensely useful in the day to day environment of too much to do and not enough time to do it in. His Texas warmth, wit and wisdom always has his audiences full attention.
